Meet The Team

Joan Loch - Broker/Owner and Commercial Realtor

Joan resides in Wilmington and has been advocating for our business community since arriving in 2007 and becoming a small business owner. A supporter of the arts, she believes the quality of life in our area hinges on the strength of our local businesses. Joan’s success in helping buyers and sellers achieve their goals comes from a combination of market and industry knowledge, project management and customer service expertise, professional contacts, work ethic, and her belief that “being open and honest is the only way to do business.”

Joan’s background includes owning a consulting company, Market Resource One, where she specialized in helping businesses develop strategic and process plans. Her marketing career spans 40 years with expertise in project management, process development and product marketing; her clients included Dow Jones Business Information Systems, Curtis Young, Acme Manufacturing, and EG&G Electrochemical.

In 2006 Joan moved to Wilmington and purchased Crescent Moon art gallery, offering fine handcrafted art glass and metal sculptures from national artists. She’s served on the board of directors for the Downtown Business Alliance (2007-2019) where she assisted in the development of several initiatives including the Bring It Downtown and Downtown Alive campaigns. Bring it Downtown’s branding campaign helped change perceptions of, and reinforced the vibrancy of, downtown Wilmington, and increased awareness of the expanded downtown business districts. Downtown Alive’s effort to expand outdoor dining during the pandemic is credited with the survival of many downtown restaurants, and the sanity of many residents.

Joan is a past president of Thalian Association Community Theatre and current treasurer.  She and her husband Mike enjoy boating, traveling, cooking, time with friends and family, and good wine!
